Piglet's New Name...

D was convinced I needed to blog this time - we've decided to name her Jade :).

Let me say first:I really am beside myself in joy. Just don't know how to express my excitement in a manner that makes you understand. Short of using a lot of exclamation marks. So....

So, pink or blue?

It is going to be a looooooooooong weekend.....

So we have our next sonargram scheduled next Monday at 9.15 a.m. That's when we get to see Piglet again, say Hi, wonder at the fingers and toes, watch the squirming :).
I haven't really felt any movement but I've had the occasional muscle twinges. Everyone keeps asking me if I feel the 'flutters'. Flutters? Piglet doesn't have wings, though I have to admit if Piglet did, Piglet will be the first 'pig' who could fly :).

I have had some significant size change - I definitely look pregnant. I haven't outgrown my shirts yet - I have had to get new pants a few weeks ago - but it will be soon. Planning on going shopping tomorrow. DH also says he can see a line going vertically across my belly button, also known as the Linea nigra . It's faint but there. Also, my belly button is getting shallower. That's definitely weird.

It still boggles my mind that I've would have been pregnant close to a year.....9 months. That's a long time.

All signs point to...

Todays visit to the OB I got to hear the baby's heartbeat. Just a few moments of that *thump*thump*thump* surrounded by the other fluid sounds of Jas' tummy and that odd pitched rushing sound that usually accompanies sono-scopes and such. Piglet is averaging about 150 bpm. From what we've "heard", this higher rate usually indicates the possibility of a girl.

Boy < 140 < Girl

Of course we've consulted various other reliable sources like old wives tales, Chinese astrology, chicken bones, Tarot cards, psychic hacks, sheep innards, and the Magic 8-Ball. Also, Fairy Godmother hung a pendulum and said it was so. So there.

Just to be sure though, we have another sonogram scheduled in 1 week, and hopefully we should be able to determine gender then.

Also, we've decided to change the baby's name if it's a girl. I've had the name Sharon in mind since my first marriage. But we put our heads together over it and decided upon one we can both agree on. Very pretty. But I'm not tellin' yet. Not until we know for sure.
