6 - 8 weeks ....

Finally got the call from the doc with my hcg quantitative test results - she says I'm between 6 -8 weeks.

This is where my Baby is at right now:

Month 2 (6-10 weeks)
The embryo is now 1 1/8 inch by 8 weeks. The heart is beating and functioning. The eyes, nose, and teeth buds are formed and the embryo starts to move it’s arms and legs. Organs (spinal cord, stomach, liver, kidneys, etc) are quickly developing in structure. An ultrasound performed at this time can see the embryo.

Finally, something to blog about .....

My blog got quiet for a while because I didn't have a whole lot to blog about. We got up, fed ourselves, fed the animals, went to work, came home from work, fed ourselves, fed the animals and went to bed, amongst some other miscellaneous activities such as showers, teeth brushing, house cleaning (typically on weekends), etc. In other words, we've become FULLY domesticated. Ha ha ha! Gone are the long wild crazy days of partying and such (not that I did a whole lot of that - I was a poor college student!).

But now, I have something to blog about - our current status change of becoming parents. I have to admit, I don't think it has hit us yet quite fully, though D is absolutely estatic about becoming a father. Me, my initial reaction quite honestly was extreme RELIEF, to the point I cried when I told D the news. I'm not a very big fan of not knowing, and not knowing when and if I was going to ever be able to have children was not a fond one in my book. But now I know - it did take 4 pregnancy tests to finally convince me though. And I still have questions for my doctor tomorrow.

For right now though, I have to say that ever since we found out, I've become more aware about how I feel physically and what I need to be eating. I also find myself thinking of things like what I have to buy and what I really don't need. I've bought a book and borrow several, but if anyone has any advice/suggestions, that would be wonderful.

The joy of sharing the wonderful news has been rather thrilling and it was great to tell my parents that they were going to be grandparents. I just hope that I'll be able to give them adequate time to spend with my children in the future. Who knows, fate may point us in their direction at some point :).

A more cheerful post....

My sister came to visit - that was fun. We went shopping and eating and shopping and eating... hehehe just kidding. Most of the time we ended up at Fry's (local version of an electronics Walmart) and we took her out for Steak (Texas IS beef country, you know).

I strongly advised her next time though to fly from Malaysia to Korea to Dallas. Then she wouldn't have to make so many stops. She had to fly Dallas -> LA -> Taipei
-> Kuala Lumpur -> Kuching. I've done that route one too many times. No more.

On another note, hubby dearest is getting a new motorcyle (new to us, of course it's used.)

He's fixing up his Magna and then selling it - anyone interested in an '03 Honda 750 Magna? 30,000 miles!

In exchange for letting him get the new ride, I get a custom paint job next year :) - call me boring but I want a nice matte black. I think that's an awesome look.
