To my dah-link...

Today was one of those days, I'm sure
You feel like pounding your head on the floor.
Work's been crazy and ungrateful,
and that one customer has been nothing but a tool.
I probably don't help, thinking you can read my mind,
Especially when I get moody and depressed, my emotions abind.
But I know you love me, true and true,
You stick stronger than super-glue.
With that knowledge in my mind, I want to say I'm sorry,
To my beloved, can you forgive me?

What animal was I in a past life...?

You Were a Whale

You see the unseen and connect on the deepest level.
You help others find their soul's song.

The irony of it considering the weight issues I constantly have....

Let me entertain you......

...as I entertain myself, by blogging! Work's pretty quiet (and SLOW) and the luxury of having cubicles with high walls is that no one can really see what you're doing... he he he.

The weekend went well, had Jill and Allen, as well as Scott, Mum and Dad over. Seriously need to explore the possibility of getting a dining table. I made a HUGE batch of laksa (my last 2 packets, eEeEeEeK!) and it was really really good. That chilli oil packs a whallop though, and when you cook two packets, it's 2 inches deep! That's a lot of oil. I froze the leftover gravy.

Besides that, didn't do a whole lot on Sunday. Got my linen in so I started back on cross-stitching again. Now I need to find a lamp so that I can see my stitching better. The lighting in the living room isn't the greatest, and I hate turning on the overhead light.

Lately I've been in a Ghost In the Shell kick, since we have the entire first season on DVD. Seriously, the show sounds so much better in its original Japanese audio. There was this one part where the Major got pounded by a marine armor suit (huge sucker that slammed her head into the ground by its foot), and the Major's sniper dude, Saito came running around the corner with a huge gun, knocking the armor suit off its feet. She gets up, one arm shredded (she has a full prostethic body with super-human strength) and yells "Saiiiiiitoooo! Give me that gunnnn!!!" or something to that effect, and proceeds to stand over the suit while unloading the gun on it. The suit isn't punctured but has serious dents in it and the pilot inside is whimpering that he couldn't breath because the dented suit was crushing his lungs.
I had to go back and switch back to the Japanese audio to experience the full anger that existed in the Major's voice which the English audio didn't quite seem to portray. The voice actors in Japan really get into their characters. I'll have to see if I can make a voice clip of it just to demonstrate what I'm trying to explore.

Anyway... I'm rambling. I've also discovered that I enjoy the flavor of brown rice and spelt. I cooked up a batch last night to last me for the week. Just have to figure out dinner... Hmmmm......

Also I've decided to start a weekly Stikfa snapshot. These little guys are neat! So without further ado....
Ta-dah!

One thing that sucks about marriage... *Warning! Rant!*

... is seeing your beloved sad and feeling like you can't really do anything to help, even if you wanted to. D heard a radio spot about helicopter training and after some research, decided this might be something he would like to pursue as a career. He talked to people, did online research, found an online degree program and even went to a nearby flight training school to do his introductory flight. He was all gung-ho until the money factor started rearing its ugly head.

Financial aid would have helped with the degree program but not with the flight training because apparently we earn too much money. Too much?? when is it considered too much? Right now the only debt we have is the loan for the fence, the car loan and the house mortgage. Yet somehow I feel like we don't have enough. Not that I want to have a million dollars, but enough to have a security blanket. And we don't even have kids yet.

Has the cost of living gone up that much that a dual-income-no-kids (DINK) family is unable to get by without getting into some sort of debt? We got a used car but couldn't get it without financing (DEBT). We bought a house but couldn't get it without a mortgage (DEBT). We had to fix our fence but couldn't do it without a loan (DEBT! DEBT! DEBT!).

So anyway, the helicopter training would have cost $50,000 to $54,000 and with compounded interest, that was just too much debt to go into right now. D won't be going to helicopter school.

This sucks :(.

In other news...

D has gone back to a regular diet :P poor guy, he couldn't handle all the soy and weird stuff.

We decided that a strict macrobiotic diet may not be so good for the gallbladder, so we're trying to at least have some chicken or fish. I'm still eating a lot of grain though and I'm cooking up a lot more vegetables. So far so good.

We'll see how it goes ^^.

Cruising down the street...

... in my new (to me anyway) 2002 Toyota 4runner SR5! That's right :) we got a new car.. hee hee hee. Sweet eh?

* Not actual image of vehicle, but similar to this one.

We got it for $18,998 with 57,000 odd miles. I'm so excited! I love my Cavalier, and we still have her as a second vehicle but we definitely needed something with more cargo room as well as less miles. My Cavalier (which I fondly call Spaz - Spaz and Jaz.... get it? :P ) has close to 128,000 miles and she's about 8 years old now.

I will always have fond memories with her, such as the freedom of driving in Michigan in Mount Pleasant, as well as driving back and forth between Texas and Michigan, and finally the Deer incident. She has stuck with me through thick and thin and have put up with spilt chinese take-outs and cracked radiators.

To my car, Spaz, I raise my drink in respect. To the new comer (D says it has to EARN its name), I raise my drink in welcome!

I was just kidding....

Actually, I enjoy my job. The company's been good to me so far, and I'm the kind of person where I will work to live, not live to work. I do practice good work ethics and try to stay out of trouble :). My team lead does recognize the value of what I do, and would tell me so from time to time as encouragement. A good day at work is when I can sit in my cube all day and work on my stuff, which seems to be a continuous pile Hehe.. at least I don't have to to file TPS reports (hint: think red Swingline stapler).

So D and I have decided to try the macrobiotic diet - oooo OOOO oooo... sounds super scientific eh? Not really, the only major thing is that 50-60% of the foods we're supposed to eat have to be whole grains, and the rest consisting of miso soup, vegetables and beans. Some fish from time to time, but basically meatless.

It'll be interesting to see how this goes. So far it's been two days and I have to admit, it's not necessarily easy to cook this way. There's a lot of grains that need to be pressure cooked, and it is a little time consuming.

Besides that, we're back at work and things are moving along as usual. Ooo.. shameless plug coming along - I have started another blog that focuses on Lineage 2. Go to GamersInfo.net and click on the Lineage 2 link. Feel free to stop by ^^.
